Update 4 September 2025
While most of our team is focused on getting Atol Aurora airborne as soon as possible and others are already producing parts for its production versions, a small but dedicated team is preparing Atol Protector — a version designed for authorities and military use.
We’d love to simply hop from one lake to another with Atol Aurora, admiring the landscape and stopping to fish. However, in the current state of the world, we also recognize the need to prepare for other types of action. Whether it’s search and rescue, patrolling the Finnish archipelago, detecting and combating submarines, or using our versatile aircraft as a one-way missile, as the Ukrainians are bravely doing with their makeshift devices, Atol Protector is ready.
Atol Aviation already operates a certified facility in Halli for aircraft production — the only one for civil aviation in Finland.
Our plan is to use this facility for Atol Protector, which is based on Atol Aurora but can be adapted for rapid, high-volume production if needed. Demand may arise on short notice, and setting up a production line from scratch is challenging. We’re ensuring we can scale up quickly, though we hope it won’t be necessary.
Atol Aurora is the perfect aircraft for all-terrain use in Finland, Scandinavia, and other regions with vast water systems. Atol Protector, a rugged version of Atol Aurora, is suitable for search and rescue missions, scientific research, military operations, and more. It can also be remotely controlled or flown autonomously as a UAV, with an extended range and operation time of up to 20 hours when equipped with an additional fuel tank and dedicated control systems.
Compared to many concepts still in development, Atol Aurora and Atol Protector are advancing rapidly. The prototype is just steps away from its first flight, and our factory is ready for mass production of the first Finnish civil-certified aircraft.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. In the meantime, sit back and await our first flight!
